An enthusiastic chorus of voters signaled out Yellowstone National Park as the best national campground. ​​Far away from the city lights, Mather Campground in Grand Canyon Village overlooks the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. During the day, enjoy easy access to scenic overlooks of one the US’s most well-known natural wonders—and at night, sleep under the stars! There are 327 sites total and each includes a campfire ring/cooking grate, picnic table, parking space and room for up to six people, three tents, and two vehicles. No hookups are available, however there is a free dump station. Most RV spaces are pull-through.

It’s no secret that boondocking is one of the best ways to experience Badlands National Park. Although there is no official name for the boondocking area, the camping area is widely known as “The Wall” which is a plateau just 1 mile north in the Buffalo Gap National Grassland.
